Janelle and Brad - Engaged!

The story of Janelle and Brad began at a kickball game, and spun through 8 magnificent months before taking a trip to Mazatlan. During a romantic dinner under the stars, Brad leaned forward and said, ”Janelle, you’re perfect. But there is one thing I would change about you….”   he watched her big blue eyes fill with shock and offense before continuing, “Your last name.” She cried, of course, and said yes, of course, and now we are very lucky to be working with this fun, hip, love-filled, adorable couple. Congrats, you two!

Stacia and Nik

Stacia and Nik met at Lewis and Clark College in the fall of 2002. Nik and his roommate were the first people to introduce themselves to Stacia when she arrived. Being friendly paid off - Nik and Stacia fell in love! He proposed at Cannon Beach, and the happy couple married at Newcastle, in front of friends and family members who had travelled from all over the world.

Stacia’s gorgeous dress is by Paloma BlancaCreme de la Creme designed the cake. Flowers by Distinctive Designs. There was  live music during the ceremony by Musica Grazioso, and during the cocktail hour, by Eli Rosenblatt and Cameron PeaceDarrell Christel was the reception dj. Wendy Wojcik coordinated everything.

Pam and Jonathan

Pam and Jonathan met each other on on a phone chat line. Seriously! I have to say, chatting is something Pam is VERY good at. When we met at the studio, she and I talked like we’d been friends for life, and I’m not even sure if we talked about wedding photography… So, super cute, super fun, super talky Pam and Jonathan meet. Within weeks they know it’s love, and Jonathan proposes just before Christmas. Awww! They were married at Bastyr University Chapel and the reception was held on the Skansonia, where Pam’s dad put everyone else to shame with his amazing dance moves.
After the wedding, Pam and Jonathan enjoyed their first dinner as a married couple at Salish Lodge. While reflecting on the day, Pam got a little teary. At just that moment, the waiter had arrived to take their orders. He noticed the tears and asked if he should come back later. Without hesitating, Jonathan told the waiter he had just broken up with her! Pam saved the poor guy from any further discomfort when she laughed and explained that they had really just been married. He was so relieved!

Pam’s killer dress is from Lady Margaret’s, and was designed by Maggie SotteroMike’s Amazing Cakes designed the one-of-a-kind cake. Flowers by Maricel’s Floral Design. DJ Brian Waltz provided muisc.

Mollie and Ken

Mollie and Ken were married in the Chinese Room at Smith Tower, after a year and a half of commuting from Seattle to Thousand Oaks, CA to see each other every other weekend! They met while sailboat racing in Santa Barbara, and Mollie knew it was serious when she almost said ‘I love you’ (but caught herself, and smoothly recovered with, “I…. like you a whole lot!”). Luckily, Ken liked her a whole lot, too, and he proposed to her while they were snowboarding in Whistler.

Mollie’s favorite part of the day was the intimate ceremony, officiated by Rabbi Michael Latz. Her beautiful dress was by La Belle Elaine’s Bridal. The flowers were purchased at Pike Place Market, and arranged by Ken’s mother and aunt. Metropolitan Market designed the cake. Joanie’s Catering provided dinner, and the Jazz Unlimited Band provided music.

Leah and Matt

Leah and Matt were married at Monte Villa Farmhouse on a beautiful day (thankfully!) following a week of heavy rain. They met while working in Harrison Hospital, and began dating. Matt played hard-to-get, and after a while, Leah almost gave up on him… that’s just when things got serious! Soon after, the pair went out for drinks with some married friends. Matt left for a walk to chat with the husband, while Leah joined the wife in getting some air. Leah’s companion suggested checking out a giant decorated Christmas tree, so they walked there. When she approached the tree, Leah heard her and Matt’s song playing mysteriously (a boombox was hidden underneath it). Matt came out from around the tree to propose! The married friends had their cameras ready, and took photos during and just after Matt popped the question. So cool!

Stephanie and Erik

Stephanie and Erik married on a beautiful and sunny 100 degree day. The view outside was so nice that even the air conditioning inside couldn’t keep people from coming out to dance on the patio, play in the fountain, and take advantage of the ice cream cart. Yum!

Melethia and Duane

Melethia and Duane were married on a day that could only be described as perfect, at the elegant Woodmark Hotel. They met at work in 1999, and Duane proposed in the very same spot, eight years later. It didn’t take that long for these two to know that they had found something very special in each other, though -  Melethia called her mom that very first day, to share her excitement in meeting someone certain to play a special part in her life.

The ceremony was all peaceful happiness mixed with true love… it was simply beautiful. While it’s no secret that I still cry at weddings, these two have set some kind of record: I actually cried again while working through the photos. Duane’s vows to Melethia - unbelievable!

The party involved miniature banana splits in martini glasses, chocolate shake shots, our favorite dj, Austin Beaver, and even a magician. The greatest part, though, was when Melethia surprised Duane and everybody else with an incredible display of FIREWORKS!

Audrey and Mike

We started with Audrey and Mike at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, where Audrey prepared for her wedding in an opulent suite (about the size of many first homes).

The ceremony took place at St. James Cathedral, the most elegant church in Seattle.

We ended up in the Columbia Tower Club, where guests enjoyed the soaring views from Seattle’s tallest building, martinis from the ice bar and luge, favorite hits from the 80’s (thanks to The Retros), and the ever-popular Live Photo Booth. The Homer Simpson groom’s cake was fun, but my favorite part of the night was when Audrey’s dad set aside his cane for the father-daughter dance to show the crowd that he still has some moves!
