Margret and Jeremy chose the elegant Sorrento Hotel to host their wedding and reception. Although they knew it was love right away, they weren’t engaged until the 14th anniversary of their first date (which must mean their first date took place when they were about 8 years old)! Apparently, waiting doesn’t make proposing any less difficult.. when Jeremy got down on one knee, he held the ring box upside down!
The entire wedding party was hilarious – the guests (including a Great Dane) enjoyed the Live Photo Booth (and looked great with their paper mustaches)!
Mariya and Brian enjoyed a wedding ceremony so full of love and appreciation for family, that there was hardly a dry eye in the church. Blessed Sacrament provided a beautiful and formal backdrop for the ceremony, while Broadmoor Country Club set an opulent stage for dinner, dancing, the Live Photo Booth, and lots more love and appreciation. Everyone should be so lucky to get a toast the likes of the one Brian’s brother gave!
Mariya and Brian are off to honeymoon in Europe – for a month!!
Valerie and Ryan are such a fun couple, and Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium was just about the perfect backdrop for their wedding ceremony! This was actually not the first time these two walked down the aisle together – they met at another wedding, where they were a bridesmaid and groomsman, brilliantly paired up. Valerie and Ryan knew on the very first date that they would be together forever! Ryan proposed exactly a year later, with Valerie’s family’s permission (and in front of both families) with his Great-Grandmother’s heirloom ring.
The first glance photos are always so, so much fun to take. It is such a beautiful moment, when a bride and groom see each other for the first time on their wedding day, and for the last time as single people. There’s often laughter, sometimes tears, and in Valerie and Ryan’s case, a really great expression that just says it all….
Valerie’s dress is also a sort of an heirloom: her mother lovingly handmade it, with lace taken from her very own wedding dress!
Valerie and Ryan are hugely grateful to their families, who helped out immensely with all the planning, preparations, and on the wedding day. Catering by A Taste of the Wild.
Whenever Amy and Bill pass a Starbuck’s, they must remember their first meeting, after anonymously conducting business together for years. It was love at first sight! Amy phoned her best friend immediately afterwards, to tell her the thrilling story. After their second date, Bill pulled off his light-colored coat to lay across a park bench so Amy could sit without getting dirty. Aww! A little more than half a year later, the happy couple were riding their bikes on the Burke Gilman Trail. Bill surprised Amy with a trail-side picnic of champagne and truffles. Dessert, of course, was a gorgeous oval cut diamond ring!
Their ceremony took place at St. Jude’s Parish, with light showers that would clear up just in time for the reception at Willows Lodge, where guests enjoyed the perfect late-spring garden.
I can’t imagine how long Amy and Bill must have practiced, before thrilling their guests with a seriously unbelievable first dance! They should have plenty of time to rest their tired feet during their fabulous honeymoon in Maui…
Janel Schlitt and Jennifer Taylor from Occasions coordinated this event, and John at Final Take Productions provided videography. Dress by Marisa. Cake by New Renaissance Cakes. Floral arrangements by Miki’s Flowers. The musical perfection was thanks to the Michael Benson Band.
Oh, Amy! You are the most beautiful bride – you took my breath away! I am sad that we had to miss your miss big day – it looks like it was a storybook wedding. Can’t wait to see you (and finally meet your Bill) next time we’re back in the great state of Washington. I pray that God will bless your marriage, your friendship and your adventure as husband and wife. Congrats!
How sweet, to have a Secret Admirer send you 14 roses on Valentine’s Day. It got even better for Stephanie, though: when she figured out who Erik was, she had met the man she’d marry.
Stephanie and Erik met us on a crazy-weathered day at Snoqualmie Falls. We tried to work around the fast-moving storm clouds, but ultimately, the rain chased us out. Stephanie actually climbed all over these slippery rocks in a pair of adorable red heels!
In a funny coincidence, the day that Erik proposed to Stephanie at Ocean Shores, it was also a stormy, cold day. But talk about signs – as soon as he got down on one knee – the clouds parted and the sun came out!
Mariya and Brian, in their words: “Here is our story… That’s right. We met on a blind date at Palomino’s restaurant on a Wednesday evening in late February of 2006. Over the next couple of months we shared some great evenings together that were full of smiles, laughter, and thought provoking conversations. When the summer arrived and the weather finally improved we took advantage. One of our favorite dates of the summer was a weeknight when we decided to “walk-on” a ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island. We spent the evening walking the docks of the marinas just talking about nothing. After a 45 minute wait we had dinner outside on the deck of the Harbor Pub in Winslow. During the summer of 06 we also spent time boating in the US & Canadian San Juan Islands. Stops included Roche Harbor, Sydney Spit and Poet’s Cove. By the end of summer it was obvious to both of us that we really enjoyed each other’s company and that we had much more in common then we first realized. By Thanksgiving and Christmas we each knew that our relationship was quickly becoming something special and we were excited for what 2007 would bring. Who would have guessed that our blind date would eventually be followed by a wedding just a little more than two years later? After that first date, certainly not us! But as fate will have it, this is exactly what is going be happening June 14th. We are truly blessed.”
One of the best ways to get incredibly relaxed, artistic, and fun photos of your wedding, is to have a day-after session! The pressure is off, and we can take the time we need to hunt for great photographic opportunities… With Erin and Jamie, we took to the streets of downtown Zihuatanejo. We visited markets, met school children, and played around on the beach. Not only was it extremely fun, but the pictures were amazing!
As the parents of the bride, we were lucky enough to be invited to tag along on the day after. Aside from the wedding, it was the highlight of my trip. It was so much fun to watch Eric and Laura use their creative talents and these pictures are just a snapshot of the hundreds of great shots they took. I was particularly amused when I looked down and Laura was laying (yes, on the ground) in the middle of the street taking pictures – now THAT’S loving your job! Thanks to both of you for a great time and making our daughter’s wedding that much more special!

My favorite part was marrying my one true love. Everything exceeded my expectations and I am blessed to have my bride, friends, and family. The photographers couldn’t have done a better job!! Thanks to everyone for making this the best day of my life!!

Ann, I DO love my job! I do not, however, love the picture Eric took of me while rolling around on the street…
This was such a fun day for us! I’m really glad you were able to share it.
Erin and Jamie are super cool, easy-going, and fun people. After asking her parents’ permission, Jamie proposed to Erin at Land’s End. They enjoyed their breathtaking destination wedding in one of the most gorgeous places on earth: Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Erin, Jamie, their friends and family all got a chance to relish the sunlight, the incredible food, sunset cruises on catamarans, and $25 massages on the beach! Believe us, coming home was NOT easy…
Our favorite part of Erin and Jamie’s wedding was the father-daughter/mother-son dances. As a surprise, they chose the same songs that their parents had used for their first dances, at their weddings! It was so, so sweet.
The sun aside, of course, the coolest thing about destination weddings is the length of time we get to spend with couples. By the time the actual ceremony takes place, we already feel like family! It’s always a pleasure to photograph other events like, say, booze cruises.
Where shall I begin? Without a doubt, we could not have asked for better photographers than Eric and Laura!
Eric and Laura work incredibly well together, allowing us to feel so comfortable in front of the camera – which was my husbands biggest concern. My favorite part of the “day after” photos was when Laura pulled me aside and said “on the count of three, whisper something really nasty in Jamie’s ear….” It worked! He laughed out loud, and couldn’t stop, which was exactly what Laura was looking for!
Thank you, Eric and Laura, from the bottom of our hearts! We will cherish these photos for the rest of our lives and are so grateful to have made the decision to bring you along to Zihuatanejo!
Sincerely,
Erin (and Jamie, too)

You two, and your friends and family, were all SO GREAT to be around. You can count on us to join you in Zihua, any time!
When an Associated Press article was released, inviting everyone to “Come on down to Marcus Trufant’s wedding. He’ll be able to foot the bill.” (a nod to the Seattle Seahawk and Pro Bowl cornerback’s extremely lucrative 6 year contract), they must not have known that Jessica and Marcus would already have more than 600 of their closest friends and family members witnessing their beautiful wedding ceremony, at the Immaculate Conception Church, in Seattle!
Jessica and Marcus were great to work with! Jessica is so funny and outgoing, and her sweet personality really shined throughout the busy day. She was gorgeous, as usual, in her Luly Yang gown. Marcus and his groomsmen pulled up to the church in a bumping stretch Hummer, which perfectly set the tone for the high-spirited fun people would be having all day.
My favorite part of the day was seeing how these two light up when they are in each other’s presence. Marcus melts a little when he sees Jessica, who absolutely glows! Moments like these are why we love being wedding photographers.
After cutting their incredible wedding cake together, Jessica surprised Marcus with his own groom’s cake of Qwest Field – yes, that’s a CAKE!
Jessica and Marcus chose to have a Wedding Day Slide Show at their reception. It’s not uncommon to have a slide show of childhood pictures, watching the couple grow individually until they meet, and then together until they marry. What’s special about the Slide Shows we offer, is that in addition to the earlier pictures, Jessica and Marcus (plus all of their guests at the reception) got to see images taken THAT SAME DAY at the wedding! It was a romantic replay of the getting ready, first sight, ceremony, and even the off-site portraits that were taken just after the ceremony. These shows always bring oohs, aaahs, laughter and tears. Special thanks to Cory and Colin Bogle from Bogle Productions, who put everything together with the perfect music and handled the projection.
These two chose the best of the best, when it comes to wedding vendors. When choosing a DJ, they even hired two! Tim Stivers acted as MC while Austin Beaver of Nite Lite Entertainment kept the dance floor packed. Merry Beth of Aisle of View coordinated the entire affair.
